Check the key qualities that an employer is looking for in the career you wish to pursue for the various job types. Don't be afraid to add skills that you've gained from your personal life, such as organising a fundraiser or being a football referee.
As with most careers, employers will expect a basic literacy, numeracy and IT ability, along with good communication skills.
If you don't have the necessary skills for a particular role, you can always start at a lower level and work your way up, or gain a qualification to boost your knowledge and experience.
