Almost anyone, at any stage of their career, can work in housing if they want to. But it tends to draw those who want to work with people, have the enthusiasm and drive to learn new skills and ultimately want to make a difference to individuals and communities.
Most roles involve daily contact with tenants and external agencies, and working closely with your colleagues, so you will need:
- An interest in working with people
- Great communication skills
- Organisational skills
- Flexibility to adapt to a variety of different situations
- Ability to work on your own initiative and under pressure.
